Mahesh Kumar
Programme Director at EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy

Mahesh is the Programme Director at EcoLabs Centre of Innovation (COI) for Energy. He is one of the key founding members of EcoLabs COI for Energy. His core focus is on deeptech translation from lab to commercial deployments, test bedding innovative solutions at industrial scale, assisting SME/Startups in co-innovation efforts, supporting early stage investments, and projects financing for sustainability & clean energy projects in Singapore from investors , corporates and global institutions. As part of EcoLabs, he accelerates the adoption of sustainable solutions developed by SME/Start-ups to foster Singapore clean energy transition.

Mahesh received his Master’s in Management of Technology from National University of Singapore and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Indo German Training Centre (IGTC-AHK), India. Mahesh has wide and deep experience in innovation and entrepreneurship. He has worked with leading MNCs and Fortune 500 companies in championing new product development and innovation efforts. Over the years, he has successfully mentored and assisted several technology startups to successful commercialization in Singapore. Mahesh is an innovation process management expert and specializes in deeptech licensing, IP intelligence, techno-economic evaluations, new venture creation or spin-offs from IHLs, and creating sustainable business models for SME/Startups, business partnerships, and building strategic innovation clusters.

In recent years, he has been actively involved in building a national energy innovation cluster in Singapore and bridging innovation ecosystems across EU, Korea, Thailand, India and other ASEAN member countries to foster deeptech innovations in sustainability.
